Driving Directions Take 680 north to Hwy 4 west towards Martinez. Take the Alhambra Ave. exit and turn right. Continue on Alhambra Ave to it's end. Turn left on Buckley st. Follow it to Rankin Park and park in the lot above the ball field.
Optional Comments It can be windy on the ridge. Bathrooms are available at the trailhead only. There is a picnic table after 3.5 miles, or you can have lunch at Rankin Park. Take the Rankin Park Trail to top of ridge, hike around Franklin Ridge Loop Trail, and return to the trailhead by the other leg of Rankin Park Trail. Beware of unmarked trail junctions not on map.
