TRAILS CLUB OF ROSSMOOR - GROUP NAMES/HIKE DESCRIPTIONS
· AMBLERS: 3 to 5 miles at a leisurely pace, up to 500 feet elevation gain.
· RAMBLERS: 5 to 7 miles at moderate pace, up to 1500 feet elevation gain. Normally at a slower pace if more elevation gain.
· TREKKERS: 6 to 8 miles, moderate pace up to 2000 feet elevation gain or possible faster pace if less than 1000 feet elevation gain.
· SCRAMBLERS: 6 to 9 miles, slightly faster pace up to 2500 feet elevation gain or possible faster pace if less than 1500 feet elevation gain.
· POWER SCRAMBLERS: 9 to 12 miles, moderate pace up to 3000 feet elevation gain. or faster pace up to 1500 feet elevation gain. Normally travel greater distances to hike and often dinner prior to return. Normally averages one per month during 2nd week.
· “Hiking event”: Can be used by any group for full day hiking/touring activities where group returns later than normal approx. 2PM.
