Hiking Group Representatives
The role of the Hiking Group Representatives will include the following:
The role of the Hiking Group Representatives will include the following:
- Assume the responsibility of representing the
interests of the specific hiking group they were elected/ appointed to
represent.
- Attend all scheduled Trails Club Board meetings
and participate as full voting members of the Board.
- Communicate with hiking group members through
informal or formal means to aid in voting on issues in their group’s best
interest.
- Greet non board members attending the Board Meeting
to make them feel comfortable and welcome.
- Coordinate the election/appointment of one new
representative for each hiking group each calendar year. The selection shall be made prior to the
November Annual Meeting.
- Serve as members of the Nominating Committee as
directed by the President
- Take on Committee work as may arise in Board
Meetings.
- Help new members inquiring about the Club and
assist with the recruitment of others to fill the Trails Club’s various support
roles.
- Serve as a mentor to the Quarterly Hike Captain
during the first month of the Captain’s term.
- By November 15th of each calendar
year, Hiking Group Reps will recruit four volunteers from their hiking group to
serve as Quarterly Hike Captains for the following year.
