A SAFARI PLANNING TOOL
This section is designed to assist members who are planning a Safari. Under each site location will be copies of documents that other members have used to organized and plan a Safari to that location. Feel free to copy forms or documents, or to alter them to the circumstances of the new location.
Planning Information
The safari leader has the authority to set the maximum number of participants suitable for his or her trip.
Trails Club trips are open to Trails Club members at the safari leader’s discretion.
All prospective participants to a safari may be requested by the leader to hike with the club prior to being accepted for a safari in order to assess their fitness level. If the safari leader feels that a person is not able to meet the demands of a particular safari, he or she may reject the application for participation in that particular trip.
Club members may invite a guest only when regular members of the club have had ample time to sign up for a trip and only with the approval of the safari leader.
Club members who are allowed to invite guests are expected to take responsibility for their guests. The club member is expected to accompany their guest on the same hike during the safari. If the guest has difficulty during the hike, the TC member who has sponsored the guest must return to the trail head with the guest and attend to his or her welfare, including calling for medical aid if necessary. Special situations may be resolved on an individual basis by the Safari leader.
