Trails Club Event Committee Kick-Off (September 15, 2026)

Let's party!

The Trails Club leadership is establishing a new Events Committee for 2027 to plan and organize the wonderful annual events that we all enjoy.

We’re looking for creative Trails Club members to join the committee!

With more committee volunteers, the responsibilities can be shared amongst more helpers. And, we’ll have a diversity of ideas and skills that reflect the interests of our whole club.

What’s in it for you?

A great way to meet fellow members and build friendships

A chance to “give back” to the Trails Club that’s given so much to us

An opportunity to learn new skills, be creative, and keep those brain cells alert

The satisfaction of being part of successful and enjoyable events for our club

Our events are always fun and much appreciated by members, and we want to keep that tradition going!

Our current Event Coordinators, Molly P. Clopp and Kathy Devine, will train, assist, and support the committee as it gets established. You won’t be on your own!

If you enjoy planning gatherings, sharing creative ideas, or simply helping people have a good time, please consider joining us at our introductory meeting.

Come find out more!

Please attend the introductory meeting for the new standing committee. Come hear what’s involved, share your ideas, and see if this might be something you’d enjoy. There’s no obligation to commit just by attending.

Look forward to seeing you!

Trails Club Leadership

Kathy Devine and Molly P Clopp, Event Co-Coordinators

* Fall 2026 Yosemite Safari * (November 16, 2026)

Take a few days to relax following the November elections and before the busy holiday season begins - join the Trails Club for a late fall hiking trip to Yosemite!

We will be staying at the Yosemite Valley Lodge, conveniently located in the heart of the valley. Room options include either one queen, two doubles or a king bed and are currently (as of 8/16) available for the market price of $279 per night, including tax. Bunk rooms with one queen and a bunk are also available, for $366 per night, including tax.

Note that prices may increase closer to the safari date, so register with the Club to join the safari then book your hotel room soon if you plan to attend. The Lodge offers a 7 days prior to arrival cancellation policy.

Breakfast (not included in the room fee) is available at the Base Camp Eatery or the Starbucks Coffee Bar. Rooms include a mini-fridge but not microwaves.

As always, participants are responsible for making their own roommate and travel arrangements. The Amtrak Gold Runner train/bus route can deliver you directly to the Lodge from Martinez, however arrival time is in the late evening.

Hikes are planned at all levels, centered around the valley floor. Depending on the weather Tuolumne Meadows and Glacier Point may not be accessible during our stay.
